Our 1993 Honda Civic project with a Supercharged B18C VTEC Engine developed a serious issue only 6 months after the engine was built.
Symptoms started with coolant bubbling in the cooling system, which led us to perform a series of diagnostic tests. After further investigation we confirmed:
Coolant was entering the #1 cylinder combustion chamber.
To determine the root cause, we pulled the engine apart and began inspecting the components. During teardown we uncovered a major issue with the cylinder head that explains the coolant intrusion.
