An exclusive stereo remix and remaster. Otis Redding’s 1965 cover version of “A Change is Gonna Come” was originally written and sung by Sam Cooke in 1964. The lyrics were based on racism in America at that time. Cooke’s recording has a majestic orchestration arrangement by Rene’ Hall, which sounds spectacular even by today’s standards. However, my first hearing of "A Change is Gonna Come" was the Otis Redding’s version on FM rock radio channels during the late 1960s. Redding’s gruff blues vocals and small band sound fit nicely within the mix of rock songs in those days, and it is his version that is very special to me. All rights reserved to the copyright owners.
