John 12:27-29 teaches that sorrow is not to be avoided but endured with trust in God. Jesus faced the fire of sorrow, not asking to be spared but seeking to glorify the Father through it. Sorrow refines, burning away shallowness and revealing true self. It can either strengthen or destroy, depending on one’s response. Avoidance of sorrow leads to foolishness, as sin and suffering are realities of life. Those who emerge from sorrow with trust in God become a source of comfort for others, their lives enriched with wisdom and compassion through the fires of affliction.
