The Spirit speaks softly, like a gentle breeze, and only those in close communion with God can hear it. Ignoring His gentle checks quenches the Spirit and weakens spiritual life. True communion with God makes the past a living part of the present, removing the need to look back nostalgically. If the Spirit convicts you, respond immediately; delay brings dullness and spiritual loss. Ignoring His promptings repeatedly may lead to a hardened heart. God lovingly orchestrates circumstances to bring us to obedience, and each crisis is an opportunity for praise if we yield. Do not cling to what grieves Him; God removes what must go for His glory.
