Notes: (basically a big ramble and talk about no-pillar speedruns)
This is my 2nd nopillar completion, first one was a first try about a week ago which is kool. This is attempt no.3 at speedrunning nopillar, it's definitly a new challenge that really resets the inferno into being a genuinely difficult piece of content and forces you to think outside the box for solutions and offticks, as well as relying on dps output, careful resource management and movement on top of a dozen other things to survive and go fast.
Didn't really know what to do other than commentate since it helps with thought process and adds a bit of depth to the run, nothing I said probably makes any sense but hey thats what you get when your brain is distracted with flicking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
All in all I'm fairly happy with the run for the amount of attempts it took, sub 60 is totally possible, leaning towards low 55-6 at best, bear in mind you auto-lose ~4 minutes from the pillars going down vs a normal speedrun so this is the equivilent of a ~58 minute Inferno, if you were to discount the pillar time it would be s60, although I think it's more fun to include that in the challenge as time that counts.
As far as waves go I think was chanced only one time if that, and all others I had options available and used supplies as required to stay alive, which is just a necessary part of the run with regards to management. I also think the setup was correct, with devouts, bcp and an extra stam being utilised for extended prayer usage, tankability and mobility. The biggest error causing time loss was probably using my regular bastion dose instead of my divine at Jad, giving me a sub 99 range level for the last minute of Zuk.
If I was feeling a bit braver doing a better zuk skip may have been the play but considering the supplies I ended on I think I made the right choice to stick with a simple Jad Skip.
I actually planned to do this specific task on stream but as you might be able to tell from the intermittent 1k+ ping spikes during the run my net wasn't really playing ball so luckily I decided to record while sending offstream.
Anyway with more practice I'll figure out the kinks and improve this run to something more respectable, there's a massive amount of time to be saved by learning specific offtick patterns from good movement on wave starts post ranger/mager, a lot more to learn since you need to include all sort of spawns and not just pillar relevant ones. I'm hoping I can hit the s60 asap because to be honest there's a dozen other players who can probably s60 nopillar in a few attempts so I'd like to yoink a "first" :P
