In this episode, we will be sharing with you an easy idea to make some quick cash with your Ortur Laser (see more here: diy3dtech.com/ORTUR_Laser_Master ). As we continue our journey to recycle or upcycle all of the cardboard boxes we get, the idea of custom "coasters" came to mind and want to share with with you! As these would be great for green minded local restaurants (with their logo), outdoor weddings (with the names and date), graduations, company picnics, you name it! Here the large cutting area of the Ortur Laser Master 2 makes the difference as you can load in large pieces of carboard and the machine do all of the heavy work for turning our coaster after coaster extending the life of what might of just headed directly to the landfill!

![Shop Talk - Cheap and Cheerful 3D Heated Printer Platform Solution!
In this episode, we will be looking at way to insulate your heated b-d for your 3D printer! First, let me explain the title as if I use the term heated b-d. Then YouTube demonetizes the video thinking its something strange. However with that out of the way, the SOOWAY 3D Printer Platform Hot Bed Insulation (you can see more here: http://diy3dtech.com/3D_Printer_Platform_Hot_Bed_Insulation ) is an efficient as well as cost effective solution to insulate the underside of your heated build platform. Keep in mind, the goal with insulating the build platform is to help maintain temperature stability and efficiency. This can assist in maintaining better adhesion throughout the print as well as reducing warping because the platform will be heated more uniformly. Also with smaller temperature swings, the overall available current can be better unitized in maintaining the hot end temperature.

![Design Talk - Winston Moy Inspired Maker Knife Sheath!
In this episode, we where inspired by a video from Winston Moy desktop CNC maker extraordinaire who in a recent video created a new face as well as belt holder for his Giaco Whatever Maker Knife. Now this got me thinking as several time I have failed to lock the blade and poked myself in the leg when the blade would pop-out unexpectedly. So got thinking why shouldnt Team Additive take a shot and design a an interlocking sheath which we did!
On the why we also tried new print ordinations because as you guys know this is something I have been experimenting with and was surprised with what we could achieve!

![Ender 3 Modifications - Direct Drive Cable Management Plate!
We purchased a number of Ender 3s to refresh our 3D printing farms and we converted them to direct drive extruders for several reason (we used this kit which has worked very well: https://amzn.to/2PBesyF ) however it left an open hole in the gantry where the extruder use to be so we took advantage of this to design a simple but effective cable management system for the printer and wanted to share it with you guys!
Note: This mounts by either using two (2) or four (4) M3 bolts/Nuts which you can get here
