Musician and multimedia artist Adéla Konečná is no newcomer to the Czech scene. She handles electronics in the psych/rave rock band DŸSKO, is part of the Olomouc-based collective Hlubina, and has a synth project called Orinoko. Alongside these, she has recently begun performing under her own name, creating work that is notably more abstract. Her approach is both collage-like and narrative. It's not exactly ambient—soothing or sedative—but rather a slow, unstable stream of raw sonic elements. Characteristic features include coarse, deliberately unpolished oscillations with a hypnotic effect, as well as the incorporation of field recordings and subtle disruptions. From the delicate, restless noise, strong melodies occasionally and unexpectedly emerge. Gentle noise / harsh ambient.
