The Alchemist now comes in Eurorack form and has six different synth engines that can automatically change to create fun sounds. This patch demonstrates how to quickly switch between ambient and crazy sound design. 🌪️
There are actually two sound sources: the Alchemist, which uses its built-in CV generator to create a melody, and the Pizza, which creates an evolving drone by sending the TRI LFO from the Alchemist to the FM Index. Both are sent through the Basil, which creates a reverb effect. Since the Pizza is sent to the Alchemist, the most effective way to "mute" the Alchemist is to disconnect the trigger sequence. We used the MURACK Trigger Warning for this. The Neo Trinity creates a melody for the drone and, most importantly, lets us transform this patch into sound design madness. 🎶
The other five channels of the Neo Trinity are random LFOs that change various parameters in the system, most importantly the MODE and TIMBRE inputs of the Alchemist and the TIME and CONTROL inputs of the Basil, which is set to FREEZE mode to create time chops. Unmuting all the channels instantly switches you from ambient to stereo madness.
