(A re-release of the first episode of this sprite series. I wanted to go back and fix some problems the original first episode had. I've added a few extra scenes to add extra dialogue and characterisation to Fieldcap and Bolette and altered some of the dialogue to reflect the characters personalities. I've also added in some tie in references to episode 2 and so on. So here is the new version of A Box of Delights
Doctor Wii
The first part in a two part pilot for a potential new sprite show.
"Bolette and Fieldcap, a couple of curious Toads go exploring a haunted house but come across Doctor Wii, an eccentric, old man with a big secret, for the good Doctor owns a machine that can travel in space and time. Bolette and Fieldcap become unwilling passengers when the machine is attacked by mysterious creatures and is accidentally set in motion, teleporting the three to safety but in the process tearing Bolette and Fieldcap from their home world and time."
As part of my own celebration of Doctor Who's 50th anniversary I am releasing something I've been working on for a few months and completed a month ago. Doctor Wii was my first attempt at a sprite series and the results fell short of what I wanted to do --honestly, it was awful but it was my first sprite show-, I took them down from youtube and reinvented it as a comedy sprite series but I didn't feel that was what I wanted either. So again I've again re-invented it into more of what I wanted it to be.
The idea originally was that I used sprites and backgrounds from a load of games to tell a story, but that idea wasn't working. The idea was sitting around in my head for a few years before I decided to ground it in a franchise of Super Mario and write it as a spin off -ish thing to Mario and Luigi. However I intend to make some of the episodes crossovers with other games and potentially explain some plot holes that arose in those games.
But otherwise this series is just about having fun and enjoying stories, as all my sprite cartoons are.
