Midnight Clover is about the ongoing journey of overcoming barriers (anxiety, current challenges, or past experiences) to pursue your dreams. The most important theme is that, even if it seems that the "right time" has passed (lyric: midnight falls away, all the leaves are gone), it's not too late and new energy can be generated in a positive way towards your passion. The lyrical references to glass are about literal barriers (phone screens) and mental barriers (anxiety/loneliness) between a person and making connections with others, or pursuing their goals. I could say a lot about each line and the meanings of each, but these are the most prominent themes. I woke up with the melody of the chorus in my head about 1 year before we wrote the song after a dream, and it sat in my phone until Josiah and I started our twitch stream and started to write music. This is the first song we wrote.
