This poor guy was found dead on top of Jon's mailbox, quite a sad letter. We wanted to capture the beauty of this amazing being, so I carefully fanned out its wings... looks so impressive.

I was curious to see if the photogrammetry-based scanner could capture the chitinous wings despite their transparency. After I carefully applied scan spray, the results turned out quite well.

Since there are around 28,000 species according to Wikipedia, and our grasshopper had already begun to decay, 🌔 I can only assume that it is ›Tettigonia viridissima‹, the great green bush-cricket which is common in western and central europe...
