In what is widely being seen as an alarming case of artificial intelligence going rogue two of OpenAI’s most advanced models escaped human control, accessed the Internet and hacked another AI company.
ChatGPT, the creator of OpenAI, has called it an unprecedented security incident. Hugging Face, the AI company that was hacked by the OpenAI models, disclosed the intrusion. OpenAI said on its website, Hugging Face “detected and contained an AI agent that compromised their infrastructure, something we expect to become more commonplace with the proliferation of increasingly cyber-capable models.”
