A little over 5 minutes of loading the game and seeing what happens. First thing I want to say is that I really like the ideas I've seen. It looks very good. It plays badly, however.
Criticisms:
Obviously the maps don't display correctly at all. This is a well known issue and will be fixed with newer map importers (afaik there are still people working towards that?)
Lag. This is a big thing because this demo lagged a lot. The title screen even seemed to be running at less than half speed. It's not obvious in the video but I was pressing A quickly and it still took a few seconds to get to the file select.
The pause menu crashes the game. Not good. This happens both when equipping items and unpausing. I don't know the cause because I'm (ironically) not sure how to activate the crash debugger on the debug version.
Also to note: I seem to get varying results with how the map displays - sometimes it's all water (like the video) and sometimes I can't see water at all. Trying to use the sword crashes the game (it gets equipped if you reset because the save file reverts to the "premade" one that's usually on file 1, this is the only way I could test that).
Maybe I'll try it on emulator too but I hope this will one day be a playable N64 game. Before someone says "this is N64, of course it won't work!", keep in mind that this is the system the game is being developed for and thus the most important test for playability.
