Decades after they were lost beneath the Labrador Sea, the wrecks of Quest and Terra Nova were documented in remarkable detail during this month's Heroic Age Expedition!
A remotely operated vehicle equipped with a stereo camera system (provided by the -funded ) captured hundreds of thousands of high-resolution images to create ultra-detailed 3D reconstructions of these historic polar exploration vessels.
Led by the in partnership with WHOI, this unprecedented level of imaging will preserve these ships' stories for generations to come. From the seafloor to the screen, innovative technology and hard-won expertise are bringing new perspectives on some of the world's most significant scientific and archaeological sites to the surface.
