The rafted tow is a simple yet effective way of helping a fellow kayaker in distress: All you need is a tow line and a good sense of balance!
It’s a good idea to practice both sides of the equation: set up the tow and get a feel for pulling other kayaks, and also practice rafting up with another kayaker and having a third person tow you both.
Be sure to practice clipping in and of the system to ensure you’re well prepared for any circumstance!

For the first time in over 100 years, a ribbon of greenish-gold carves uninterrupted from Keno, Oregon to the Pacific Ocean. With Iron Gate, Copco 1 and 2, and J.C. Boyle dams gone, the Klamath River is slowly reshaping and restoring the riverbed, inviting the chance to discover the region anew.
Soon, spawning salmon and a colorful cohort of kayaks, piloted by Indigenous youth from the Klamath River basin, will return to reclaim their home waters.
“The first people to descend down the undammed [Klamath] River will be the kids that did the Paddle Tribal Waters program!” – Keeya Wiki, PTW student
Paddle Tribal Waters Academy is a collaboration between Rios to Rivers and World Class Academy, proudly supported by NRS and others. PTW III: Paddle Tribal Waters Academy](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/qn4qOhHfFTc/mqdefault.jpg)
