What is Laulima anyway? How do I get there? How do I use it? We’ll answer all these questions in a minute or less!
Laulima is what we call a learning management site - it is where instructors will upload assignments, share announcements, or any other class-related information and where you will access all these class resources.
Now, to get there! Open your preferred browser (Firefox works best with Laulima) and go to www.laulima.hawaii.edu. Once it loads, you will log in on the top right corner with your UH username and password - the same information you use to log into your UH email account!
There are a few things you’ll need to know.
First, where your classes live. If you don’t see any of your classes listed along the top of the screen, you’ll need to click sites in the top right corner, find your class, and select the star to add it to your home bar.
Next, we’ll show you what you might find in a typical class. Click on the class of your choice and you’ll see a list of options along the left side. Often, you will have an “overview page” that might give you a quick overview of the class. Next are the lessons. Your instructor may personalize what these are titled, but this might be where you’ll find details about your assignments, lesson information, links to readings. Consider checking out the email option to see who you can reach out to, the gradebook section, and the discussion boards.
