Enjoy an overview of several educational networks within the Ko‘olau region. Specifically, we focus on how the He‘eia National Estuarine Research Reserve (He‘eia NERR) is supporting restoration and student research into traditional lo‘i halo, fishponds, and native ecosystems in He‘eia, and how you can volunteer with several organizations. We also describe a professional development program open to WCC instructors to incorporate ‘āina-based experiential learning into their classes. The cohort-based program offers a year of support through workshops, coaching, and peer feedback.
