Housed within the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health (WORH) offers a wide range of services aimed at improving health outcomes in the state’s rural communities. Emergency medical services are coming under strain due to workforce shortages and rising costs. WORH, in partnership with local elected officials in Vilas County, created a new EMS district that’s cut response times in half.
