Amara (Kiros' sister), after discovering that she was the only known survivor of the war against her pride, is exiled from Milele by Mufasa and his subjects (to the dismay of Scar). However, upon reaching the Outlands, she meets two unexpected allies.

I started this the night I posted that poll about who ya'll thought Zira's mother could be so I made this in 4 days??? My hand hurt so bad one day because I was editing this for like 6 hours LMAO
but I'm pretty happy with this!! this is based off of a backstory for Zira's parents I came up with a couple weeks ago - a white lioness (Amara) is exiled, meets the strange lion, falls in love him him, and Zira is born.
(edit, 8/18/2025 - the story originally involved Zira, her dad, and the cobra living alone after Amara died giving birth to her daughter, but uh... Zira wouldn't exactly live if Amara died sooo I imagine that her dad found another lioness who just so happened to have just had a cub, and she fostered Zira. Azola perhaps?)
also, it's worth mentioning that in my AU/headcanon/whatever, Scar receives the roar of the elders by the ancestors after he settled in Milele, who still saw good in him and the unwillingness to hurt his brother. However, the strange cobra attacked Scar, reopening the wound across his eye and infecting him with the venom that affected Kion's emotions in TLG. That, plus Mufasa not believing that the strange lion was an actual threat, turned Scar against his brother for good.
Zira doesn't know that Scar killed her father - she knows that he led a lion guard but never realized that the roar she heard was him (and, since falling in love with him as an adult, didn't consider that he was the culprit).
