Eeeeee I'm very happy with the result of this edit, actually! ^w^
So, I started making this 3 days ago, after finally getting home after nearly an entire edit idea in my head. Earlier that day, I saw this fantastic MEP with this song and it had a whole lot of Final Fantasy clips in it, especially ones from FFVII Advent Children. Aaand it all seriously inspired me! My reason for choosing this combo of characters is because in that MEP, parts with these characters came one after another and these two parts were the ones that inspired me the most :3
I took some inspiration from like 2 text effects used in one of the parts and I decided to play around with something similar, but create it to my liking, and see if I can find anything that I would like to continue using onwards :3
I also took some inspo for the some of the clip selections and placements x3 (Also the little closing black bar near the end ^^)
I was already happy with the look of this after adding clips and a coloring, and when I got to editing, I had loads of fun trying out these little things that I've never tried before - like adding a soft fade to the lines that I usually do, using the screen blend mode more often for text, and I also found a new preset transition that I came to like :3 It's sorta like the flash and blur transition that I usually do without presets ^^ It's called ''uni.Exposure blur''! :3 I also thought of some new ways to do typography :3
Given that the typography is very active, I kiiind of wanted to make the background more calm, but I couldn't really help myself, and ended up making the clips match the intensity as well! Although, I intentionally made the clips and effects more calm and less active towards the very end, so it wouldn't be a constant strain of a lot of things to pay attention to, throughout the whole video ^^
Okie, now I would like to talk about my ideas!
I would like to say that there was an effect similar to the one I did here with the first ''it's three, three get ready'' lyric in the MEP I watched, for that same lyric, so that's the one I took inspo from for the first pieces of text aside from the first ''it's two, 'cause two is for the show''. The other text ideas came to me after looping this part of the song many times and thinking. I'm especially surprised at the outcome of the lyrics that I added during Reno's part!
I used After Effects to make that part, and, man that was some trial and error XD"' Buuuut! I was able to do it completely like I imagined it in my head!!!
This brings me to my next thing! This edit turned out to look PRECISELY the way I thought it would look in my head, if not better! owo
I literally felt like I broke my own patience while making this. I generally don't have the patience to completely perfect my work or to put too much effort into it.
I did notice some little things I would've liked to improve on after it first rendered. (which it did in 33 minutes and 33 seconds, might I add lol) After seeing these things, I decided, since I'm already quite dedicated to this edit, I might as well first every little thing I don't like about the render, mainly the outro screen. And so I did, and then it finished rendering after 31 minutes and 44 seconds ^^
However, even if I went a bit out of my comfort zone with this project, I'm kinda glad I did.
Aaaaa and I think that's all I have to say for now!
I really really hope that y'all enjoy this edit, and that y'all have a really great day/night as well x3

I must say, I think Chazz/Jun is my favorite character to edit with, when it comes to comedic edits XD
Aaand thats what this is supposed to be - a comedic edit ^^
I think I began this on the 20th of July, this year?
This was the first thing I got to making when I found the name of this song after hearing it in an Instagram edit.
This is heavily inspired by that edit. It was an edit made by miaouamvs, I believe.
I also found myself laughing as I was setting the clips, namely the very first clip here, which I had added later down the road XD
I was also trying to make the clips fit the lyrics somewhat ^^
After I had set those clips in Vegas, aaand gotten to editing in AE, it was a lot of fun to try out these kind of transitions, bc theyre done a little different from how I would usually do them, and honestly, I think this is now my fave way to do transition curves in AE ^^
It was also fun learning how to make text follow a path, and therefore making the two lyrics you see here ^^
Now, rendering this was a bit of a chore. Im not quite sure why, but at a specific clip, which is the one at the part where the lyrics go grow up like a-, Media Encoder always stopped rendering and showed that it failed. After many failed attempts, I tried to think of an alternative way to render this. Eventually, I had tried to render straight from AE in a lossless avi format, which resulted in a huge file size (like, 6 gb). After this, I converted the video with Handbrake, and it did so very quickly - it also left the quality still looking nice, and being able to find an alternative like this made me really happy ^^
Ah, regarding the video, I def feel like my fave part here is the spin transition, and I also like how the text turned out to look ^^
Heck, I think Im happy with this edit, in general XD
The only thing is that I wish I had extended the fade out for the today piece of text a little more. Oh well.

Huh, I think Ive figured out that editing with pictures like this is my fave way of editing in AE^^
Aaanyways, I started this project 2 days ago when I felt like I really wanted to edit with Aki in some way, but I was absolutely clueless as to what song I could use. First I remembered about a rock song that could maybe fit her, but I didnt feel any inspiration for that song. Plus, I didnt feel like I wanted to edit with anything too lyric heavy since I wasnt feeling up for trying to find fitting clips to download from YT again. I was looking through songs and I remembered about this one which I had seen in one Instagram edit. I started contemplating that maybe I could use this, but I definitely wasnt confident in this choice at first. However, this changed with time.
As I was editing this in AE, it felt like all of what I was doing was happening so smoothly, and I didnt even need to put thought into what I was doing - it was just happening, really.
This is, of course, after some trial and error after coming back to the project and nearly breaking the flow of it. I added about three pictures with effects and transitions after the one at 0:04, and none of them appear in this final video here. And the effects and transition styles I used werent kept, either. I was trying to make those clips work, but it just didnt feel right, so I went ahead and deleted what I had done there, and then began rethinking what could go with the flow. Thats when it started feeling fun again.
In general, It was a whole lot of fun editing this, especially in AE. I had some trouble with the Twixtor however, bc it wasnt working the way I wanted it to, with the third anime clip I used here, but eventually I got it to work in some way.
Speaking of those - I actually got the clips from YT, once again, so I apologize for the quality of them. Another thing that bothered me a little was that I hadnt realized that I could mask out the subtitles that were on the clips I used. These subtitles arent visible when the clip is done rolling, but they could or can be seen as the clip _is_ rolling. I tried to fix this later on, but Im a bit worried that it looks messy ^^
By that, I mean that once I felt like I was done with this, and I had rendered it, I put it into Vegas - mostly to add a coloring, because I was worried that adding MBL would mess the rendering process up in AE.
I made a coloring specifically for this video, instead of editing an already existing coloring I had made, and I feel like its quite nice. There were a lot of points where I had to fade the video in and out of it because some parts were a bit too bright, so I had to go in and decrease that part alone.
To hopefully make the subtitles less visible, I added a lot of RSMB as well as blurs and flashes on the anime clips. But maybe the RSMB was a mistake to add on some of the clips, bc they just dont have subtitles and it wasnt really needed XD
There was something that I forgot to do before rendering this thing in AE before, so thats why I said that I _felt_ like I was done. I wanted to add a glitch effect, but the kind that can be done with S_TVDamage. I tried to do the effect the same way it would be done in AE, in Vegas, but the result was different, so first I searched for videos, but after finding nothing I just decided to make the glitch effect, myself, so I could use it in Vegas and wont have to re-render the edit again. I feel like the result of the glitch is good ^^
The last thing I wanna say is that this took 2 hours and 51 minutes to render, and I waited through all of it. I was a bit horrified when I saw it show that there were 42 minutes left to render when it first stopped, but as you can see, that was definitely not the case in the end XD It was nearly 1 AM by the time it was done, and I feel like rendering messed the clips up a bit, bc it still looked fine in Vegas preview screen, and I have no clue what happened to the bass shake at the end. It didnt look that bad before XD
A little disappointed that I didnt render the edit in 60 fps in AE, simply bc I forgot it was set to 30 fps (and rendering this in 60 fps in Vegas would not be the best idea), bc I feel like then this couldve looked a bit more smooth, or nicer, but oh well.

Just a very simple MMD video I decided to throw together to try out this model of Cloud.
I really like how this model looks, and I thought that the animations here look nice here, so ye ^^
I rendered this with a green screen and then cut it out in Vegas to add some extra effects.
I originally wanted to try a stage, but I dont quite know how to use like, animated stages correctly and whatnot, so I stuck with this.
Maaaybe I should have removed the soft focus in this coloring. Oh well.

This was another thing that I had seen in an editing challenge, but well, I choose to do these separately, so, yeah.
Basically, you have to edit for 30 minutes with no cheating. Like once time is up, you basically need to stick with what you have.
I think this couldve been so much better, oh god XD
This was also kind of a speed edit for me! XD I was trying to put so much focus into doing stuff asap that I put basically no effort into this, and forgot to do two things that I had wanted to do (bc I briefly thought about what I could do with an edit like this, yesterday) - add a clip that I had Twixtored previously, from this movie, and add more shakes XD I did little to no checking, regarding what I was doing, so seeing the video being played was a bit of a surprise for me. Only then did I realize that I added one kind of shake to the clips, and, oh god, this just, it looks so wrong to me! XD No shakes, no zooms (except that one I added), no blurs, flashes are missed out for the most part - it just feels so inactive and its not a part of my style, and it doesnt feel riiiight XD But eh, I had a time limit - guess I cant do everything in 30 minutes XD
If I wouldve had more time, I wouldve added all of those things, plus some more and different text effects, and maybe an overlay, and Id definitely fix up the coloring XD
This is also inspired by an edit that I started making last year, but its still not done by this point XD
I really only went with the one song that clicked with me, while I was looking through my downloaded songs, and deciding what song to use for this edit XD
I also didnt know if this counted as cheating or not, but I imported all of the stuff first and then started the timer XD
I think I forgot to disable the resample tho, so uh, crap XD
...What I do wish tho, was that I couldve put some kind of 30 minute time limit on the render time, bc this took 2 hours and 7 minutes to render, which I think is absolutely unnecessary for something this simple XD
I tried to go into Vegas Pro 15, hoping that would speed the render time, for whatever reason? It didnt XD So yeah XD

Welp, this is my part for Diaha Studios MEP ^^
Im glad I could be a part of this great MEP ^^
Im rather happy with the result of my part. Although it was hard for me to find clips at one point, I finally found some eventually.
I think I wasnt able to find one clip that I wanted to use, so I used smth else instead, but ye, I feel like that clip still looks nice.
I was aiming for a dynamic and badass feel - well, like the theme I had to stick to - and I feel like I captured that pretty well, tbh.
Im quite happy with this part in general. This might actually be one of my first MEP parts that Im *actually* happy with?
I generally feel like a time limit can limit my creativity, but what helped me here was the fact that I could edit with media that I generally enjoy and am quick at using, which is YGO media.
Welp, one of the parts that Im def happiest with is the part where the drop starts and 0:13 to the end. But as I said, Im generally happy with this whole thing.
I believe this also rendered really quickly, so Im also happy about that.

Alt + bonus title: You know how much you need to like a project to revive it-?
This was a project that was originally started in late (October of?) 2019, and, in fact (if it may surface onto youtube one day) you will be able to find the original beta of this video in an unfinished video dump that I am yet to still upload/make public at the moment.
Originally this was, I believe, started from feeling hype about wanting to watch this show (still have only watched one episode- XD), and this being my favorite song at the time - really wanted to put the two together! However, after setting clips and some effects and text effects, I left the video sitting for over a year, and, in the process of cleaning up my hard drive to, at the time, prepare for getting the pc I have now - i cleaned out absolutely everything I didnt in some way see myself continuing in the near future; including this video.
However, out of every video I had added to my unfinished video dump, this one was the one i felt the most sad about not keeping, somehow. It was something about how the flow was looking and how something about the vibe of this song just really resonated with me and this mixture of Tamaki. This year, i decided, heck it, if I am once again starting to love this song and i cant think of anything else besides this anime when listening to it, i might as well revive this edit! :o
And what a good choice that was!! I started off by downloading new clips again of course, bc i no longer had access to this project or the clips (found em on internet archive now - thanks to the uploader!). Setting the clips back down was easy - one thing i did change tho is instead of making my video 16:9, i edited in the original 4:3 aspect ratio of the anime.
The part that had the most effects added to it was the bang bang section, (which, fun fact, i included the original 2019 version of the beta in the background of 0:11!), and a part of me felt insecure about changing my original animations too much, as what i saw in the beta felt so very tied to how i saw the song; it felt weird to deviate from it. But i did, and in the process i developed an interesting way to edit - animating effects frame by frame (incrementing movements by only 1-2 frames, and using a mixture of fast and smooth keyframes) - this was quite new to me, as it felt like i was technically sculpting out exactly how i wanted something to move, instead of using big increments. I largely relied on creative feeling and flow :3 Also, for typography, took the approach of hey these letters in the words are the same, what if we try something with that? ^^
I originally made the gun animation for the bang bang part in AE, which i also returned to do here. And then i also brought out illustrator to create the love in automatic and loves electric magic text, and animated that in AE!
Heck, i was so inspired to make this, that I even edited text ideas for this project while at some point away from home, and on my laptop XD i did actually use what I made in this video! the shoot shoot and its automatic text was made on my laptop and then carried over ^^
For the loop, i decided to get a bit funky. I really wanted to include a bit of the original video in there, so i did for the bang bang part.
When it came to that part in the loop too, i had the random thought of opening RE4R and recording myself shooting something, and including it in this video - and i rolled with it XD I chose not to include any close-ups of the zombies when adding footage, bc viewers of this kind of edit arent here to see anything potentially shocking like that. (Fun fact! That footage was recorded before the adding, and then subsequent removal of the Enigma DRM, in the game :O)
Aaand i also added a gradual vhs effect on top of the loop to fit with the increasing distortion of the guitar!
The clips starting from 0:16 and onwards werent present in the original, i added those for this remake ^^
Overall very happy with the result of this and Im glad that i was able to bring this project to life again ^^
