Most recent encounter with a rattlesnake. This one seemed calmed considering I was standing right next to it. You're not normally going to walk up to a Western Diamondback without it putting up a fight. Wasn't until I saw the video and photos that I realized why. He couldn't see me! what looks like an eye is just a black empty hole. I'm guessing by the scar on his head, his eye was plucked out by a Roadrunner! Probably at a much younger age. He was lucky to survive. When I got on his right side he immediately struck at me and then got into the "I'm gonna kill you" stance! Honestly scared the crap out of me. I wasn't expecting that. He seemed so calm after all! Now I know why.
