Traveling in the Ottawa Valley, I visited the farm of Iain Reid's parents, the real-life setting for his memoir, "One Bird's Choice." It felt a lot like stepping into the book, with all the same characters and creatures. My favorite (of course) was their dog, Nanna. Many thanks to the Reids for welcoming me so warmly to their farm.
