This video, by The Cooper Institute, shows how to perform a one arm row using a resistance band. You will see a basic row and a row with torso rotation.
Prepare by anchoring a cable in front of the body at a low anchor point. Stand in a lunge position, creating a straight line from the head to the heel of the back leg. With the scapula slightly retracted, grasp the handle with the same arm as the back leg. Keep the spine stable during the movement and avoid spine rotation, start the exercise by pulling the handle towards the shoulder. Keep the arm in the transverse (horizontal) plane with the elbow high. Pull until the client reaches a 90 degree angle at the elbow while maintaining a 90 degree bend at the shoulder throughout the movement. Cue the scapular retractors and spot the cable. Once this exercise is mastered, add controlled spine rotation to the pulling movement.
