Learn more about our Packaging Solutions automation.omron.com/en/us/industries/food-and-beverage-packaging
This video covers our barcode reader and vision inspection demo we call the Fish Tank, goes over the technology it uses, and then highlighting its features, typical applications and how it can be used to create a broad range of automation solutions for the food and beverage packaging industry. I will also go over some of the key benefits it provides and key differentiators that separate it from other solutions.
OMRON'’s Fish Tank demonstrates our broad portfolio of technologies including Vision, Motion and Controls. These technologies combine to illustrate how you can optimize productivity and quality by tying product to process data in a Traceability system such as this one. Our cameras and readers showcase their ability to read 1D and 2D codes and identify other vision-oriented inspections such as defects and distances in the manufacturing environment for the food and beverage packaging industry.
The technologies used here in this demo are the FHV7 and MicroHAWK F430 and MV-40 smart cameras, the MicroHAWK V430 barcode reader, and the 1S Servo Motor, all being controller by a NX1P controller.
A typical application for a solution system like this includes code reading in high speed productions environments, including barcodes on primary packaging, secondary packaging, and direct part marks on a variety of plastic, metallic and paper based packaging materials. For the food and beverage packaging environments, this includes raw material management, dry and liquid products packaging, unit level and case level packaging, bottling and canning lines.
Some of the benefits you will get from using this solution are high configurability to support flexible manufacturing, a compact footprint, IP67 protection, high resolution for reading small codes and codes within a larger field of view, barcode grading, vision inspection, high speed decoding and communication, and high intensity lighting. Fast, reliable, powerful code reading and vision quality inspection!
What makes this particular solution different than others like it is that it involves highly flexible, configurable and customizable smart cameras. Such as the FHV7 that has the performance of a vision system in a vision sensor profile with a range of sensor, lighting and lens options including liquid lens auto-focus. Or, the MicroHAWK V430 and F430 that provide a small footprint and a variety of options for many applications using the combination of both barcode reading and quality inspection with easy to learn AutoVISION inspection software.
The Fishtank showcases Omron’s automation and traceability solution for your code reading and vision quality inspection needs within the food and beverage packaging industry. With multiple integrated technologies such as vision, motion and control, it demonstrates how intelligent, modular design can improve flexibility and traceability
