Ah yes, the Friends EX fight. I did v1.1 itemless before, but now I finally beat the current version. Here’s the link to both: https://mods.one/mod/dreamteam
The overall strategy is very similar to Meme Goat’s snackless strategy.* Use angry Aubrey and Omori to deplete Aubrey EX and Omori EX’s juice, because they have the most devastating skills (namely Vertigo and Last Resort.) Then, make the party sad against the enemies’ ecstatic/manic and take them down. The main difference between his strat and my own is that spreading emotions (and thus depleting juice) is slower, which means
I have to spend another turn hitting Aubrey EX.
Hero EX still forces some counterplay. Whenever an enemy is out of juice, he’ll try to heal them with a move similar to normal Hero’s follow-ups. However, there’s a bug where the enemy he heals is equivalent to the party member he attacks, so I spam Mesmerize and Can’t Catch Me and force him to heal Kel EX (or not heal at all as he tries to target himself).
One last issue comes when Omori reaches low HP. The first time he reaches a certain HP threshold, a scripted Release Energy attack deals 300 damage to all party members. Technically there’s a bug where it never happens again if it’s used after
Equipment:
Omori: Red Knife, Finger (Mush)
Aubrey:Baseball Bat, Cough Mask
Kel: Basketball, Paper Bag (Mari’s Cookie)**
Hero: Ol’ Reliable, Flower Crown
* Meme Goat did this fight snackless before me; here’s his run: youtu.be/UTURyN2zh3M
** Kel uses Paper Bag here not only because it helps with his defense, but it’s easier to ignore his emotion altogether. I also gave him Mari’s Cookie despite Omori usually being the best target, which was a mistake, albeit not a big one.
