Here's a beautifully performed song called "Come Softly To Me" recorded by "Oliver" Bill Swofford and Leslie Gore in 1970. It can be found on a 45 vinyl they released titled "Billy and Sue". Bob Crewe wanted these two to partner in performing because he believed they both possessed beautifully clear and romantic voices that created a feeling of softness and love. The song never took off as Crewe intended and was another contributing factor in Bill (Oliver) exiting his Crewe contract.
This video is released as part of the celebration of life for William Oliver Swofford (2/22/1945 - 2/12/2000); It's being provided as a small gesture of my humble respect and love for this magnificent man taken from us too soon, yet he left these bits of evidence of his short but accomplished, admirable and humbled life. #BeLikeBill
