While replacing ball joints in my jeep wrangler, I also ordered new wheel bearings and wheel side axle u joints since I was already going to be in there to install the ball joints. One of the axle u joints was bad but it wasn't making any noises, one of the wheel bearings also had a little rough spot that wasn't evident while installed on the vehicle. The other u joint wasn't bad but I replaced it anyways (same with the other wheel bearing). I also found out there are basically 3 different u joints for a 2007 - 2011 jeep wrangler jk axle depending on model because the ones I ordered were wrong. Luckily the second part store we went to had the correct ones which are the Spicer 5-760x shown.
I didn't show in the video but mark the axle halves so they can be indexed back the same way, I used white paint.
I use a punch & hammer to remove the c clips, then a large socket along with a deep well socket to remove the u joint from the axle halves. Reassembly is where this video starts.
