A rare look at my aquarium again! I had this danio since the beginning of this specific aquarium, which was set up in 2020. Shortly after everything was ready, I got this oddly-colored purple danio, which besides the color looked like a regular danio at the time. It was one of the aquarium’s very first fish! I also originally had three other danios that looked like regular zebra danios, that sadly didn’t make it much longer than a few months despite our best efforts (we've had aquariums before and knew what we were doing, some fish sadly just don't make it and you can't magically change that). I wasn’t sure to expect the purple ones presence much longer.
But this little fish lasted quite a long time, FAR beyond my initial expectations! It used to have a normal figure before slowly turning out how it is in the video, but was always pretty healthy despite this. It swam and ate well. I’m pretty happy we got new danios that this one was happy to school with during the last several months!
Sadly, just a month after recording this, the purple danio was finally gone. I knew it was coming, which was why I recorded this… But it did last longer than I’d expected in the first place! About 4 years, which is old for a danio! It could've been 5 even, depending on how old it was at the start. I’ll miss the little guy I’ve grown so familiar with, and will now be posting this video in memory of this peculiar little fish
