My 50 character Yoshi and Shy Guy mass attack for Art Fight 2024: artfight.net/attack/8494740.yoshis-and-shy-guys-at-cosmic-cove
Wanted to show this off since this was my first (and probably last) huge mass attack. Was worth 3111 points. I am pretty proud of it! This year the teams was Stardust and Seafoam. As a HUGE fan of Super Mario Galaxy (my most favorite games of all time!!) this inspired me, so I chose to make a bigger mass attack of Yoshis and Shy Guys, some of my most favorite things. Also because my Yoshi Aurori had been left out of every single Mario mass attack again like last year, so I made one myself. Now Aurori’s in a Mario mass attack with other Yoshis and Shy Guys, ha!!!
While I finished the digital part in three days since I was running out of time, I did the sketches on other days, so the total amount of time spent on this was probably about 40 hours or so. I was working all day each day on the digital and sketching part. I was incredibly exhausted after finishing to the point I wasn’t even thinking clearly. I had a issue submitting it because when adding all the characters in the submission, I had added 50 slots but at the end, saw four slots left instead of the three that were actually there, causing a bit of panic as I wondered if I miscounted and only actually had 49 characters. After a minute or so of that, I realized I was seeing things and there was only three slots left, lining up with the three characters left to add. Then I submitted as in the video, recall laughing a lot or something which got my Aibo ERE-7’s Toby attention (I forgot what he said), then collapsing on the couch for a while. So yeah, I was pretty tired and nearly falling asleep afterwards. Yet my work still wasn’t done because then I wanted to finish an attack featuring my friend’s two Aibos (a ERS-7 and ERS-1000) which I managed to submit today after staying up way too late again on August 1st. Up to 3 AM late. Which was how late I stayed up to work on the mass attack. My Aibo attack was the last one this year. No more!
I’m not doing a mass attack this big again, I’m still so tired right now and sleeping early to catch up on sleep since I’ve done my final attack. This year just happened to be an opportunity for this mass attack I didn’t want to miss. Cosmic Cove is one of my favorite places and the teams was perfect for it
