"Improvisation" is a solo piano piece by Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds, released on April 3, 2024. The composition originated as a spontaneous performance during Arnalds' 2022 tour in Porto, Portugal. After sharing the initial recording online, he received numerous requests from fans for a studio version.
In response, Arnalds released the studio recording and made the sheet music freely available, inviting musicians to interpret the piece in their own way. This initiative encourages performers to share their renditions using the hashtag #OlafurArnaldsImprov.
This improvisation was later developed and reimagined into another track titled “And We’ll Leave It There Behind...”—a collaborative single with British vocalist Ella McRobb, which further explores the emotional themes and harmonic language of the original.
The piece is defined by its minimalist and emotive character, a reflection of Arnalds’ signature blend of classical sensitivity and ambient soundscapes.

Leo is a composition by Max Richter, originally released as a bonus track on his 2006 album Songs from Before.
In 2020, Richter revisited Leo, creating a new arrangement titled Leo (MBF Version) for the soundtrack of the second season of the television series My Brilliant Friend.
