I initially thought delaying Moon Cave until after Oni Island was the best route for NG All Brushes since having Mist Warp would save lots of time by being able to Mist Warp directly to Kamiki to watch the Orochi arrow cutscene. Then I discovered when testing the route that doing this skips watching the full-moon cutscene that normally plays when you enter Kamiki before the arrow cutscene, which prevents you from cycling day/night when racing Ida afterwards.
This issue can be mitigated by Mist Warping to Shinshu instead of Kamiki so we can watch the arrow cutscene on the way in, as shown in my previous video, but it costs about 40s. I was then less sure of how much time this "Late Moon Cave" route really saved, so I made this video to time it.
As it turns out, all other things being equal, doing Moon Cave late still saves about 1m 48s over doing it after Gale Shrine, which makes it totally worth it.
Now I just need to figure out how to grind money cuz the yen route is a disaster atm =p

This run was beaten on April 28, 2020 by me (https://youtu.be/HYXkM8-eK6Q).
By the miracle of Amaterasu herself, I managed to get first try tab skip in another run. Tab skip 2 was unfortunately a fair bit worse than last time, so I cant say both were great, but on the other hand this run lacked the categorical errors of the previous, and just played better overall. The big mistakes were these:
- Ryoshima Dojo Clip: I lost over a minute here just from failing to clip and falling into the void twice. This really sucked and I do not like this trick right now ;_;
- Wawku Cannons: I kept flubbing my execution here which lost a ton of time. Ive practiced this segment a fair bit but it still went worse than Ive seen before. Just needs more practice I guess.
- Ark Blight: I messed up the one cycle. This is my own fault for not practicing it enough.
If those mistakes hadnt happened, this run couldve been 2:21 or better. I dont know how much longer I can stand to grind this category, but sub 2h 20m would surely be inevitable if I had the perseverance.
This run beats the previous WR by me (2h 25m 09s https://youtu.be/sRRZ9IDqdBI) by 1m 41s. The WR text in the top right is erroneous because I forgot to update it before the run

For those unfamiliar, the All Brushes category requires us to collect all brush techniques AND upgrades (e.g. Fireburst, Mist Warp, Cherry Bomb 2/3, etc.). This makes for a longer run, but one with many interesting routing possibilities due to the many objectives that can be completed at any time.
This run didnt have any big categorical mistakes like the previous one, so I saved a lot of time, but it did feature a lot of just sloppy play. This can definitely be improved by a lot, but its not bad for my 2nd real run. Sub 4h is done, and sub 3:50 is easily possible. Sub 3:40 is probably possible as well, but Im unsure if sub 3:30 can be achieved by a human. It will certainly not be easy.
