Drive America’s Highways for fifteen miles north along Ohio State Route 48 from Third Street in downtown Dayton to United States Route 40 in Englewood, Ohio.
The drive begins in downtown Dayton at the intersection of Main Street and Third Street. From there, State Route 48 travels north through the city center and across the Great Miami River before continuing through the neighborhoods and commercial districts of north Dayton.
Leaving central Dayton behind, Main Street passes through Harrison Township and continues into Montgomery County’s northern suburbs. The route gradually transitions from a dense urban corridor into a mixture of residential neighborhoods, shopping centers, local businesses, and older roadside development.
Farther north, State Route 48 enters Englewood, where Main Street becomes one of the community’s principal north-south thoroughfares. The video ends at National Road, also designated United States Route 40, near the historic crossroads that helped shape the growth of northern Montgomery County.

🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 27 miles west along Interstate 155 from Dyersburg, Tennessee to Hayti, Missouri — crossing the Mississippi River into the Missouri Bootheel.
Interstate 155 provides one of the few direct crossings of the Mississippi River between Memphis and Cairo, linking western Tennessee with the Missouri Bootheel and southeastern Missouri’s regional road network. The route begins at its eastern terminus in Dyersburg, Tennessee, where it meets U.S. Highway 51, a major north–south corridor in the region. Leaving Dyersburg, the highway quickly transitions from an urban connector to a rural interstate, crossing farmland and flat delta terrain before reaching the interchange with Tennessee State Route 181.
At this point, Interstate 155 bends northwest to cross the Mississippi River via the Caruthersville Bridge, a steel through-truss structure completed in 1976. This bridge provides a vital link not only for local traffic but also for commercial and agricultural transport moving across the heart of the Mid-South. On the Missouri side, the route immediately serves Caruthersville with an interchange at Missouri Route 84, allowing travelers to access the town directly.
From Caruthersville, Interstate 155 continues northwest for its final stretch, cutting across the open farmland of the Bootheel before reaching its western terminus at the junction with Interstate 55 near Hayti. Here, the route transitions into U.S. Highway 412, providing onward connections westward through Missouri and Arkansas. Despite its short length, I-155 plays an important role as a cross-river connector and as the only interstate link directly serving Caruthersville.

The drive along Arkansas Highway 25 between Quitman and Greenbrier offers a snapshot of small-town Arkansas, where the terrain transitions from rolling countryside into the beginnings of the Arkansas River Valley. Beginning in Quitman at the junction with AR-356, the road sets out southwestward as Heber Springs Road, a well-traveled corridor that serves as a connector for local residents. Along the way, the highway meets AR-124 and shifts south, threading its way through farmland, scattered woods, and the kind of open landscapes that define this part of the state. Drivers will also pass the junction with AR-107, a rural route that heads southeast toward more remote parts of Faulkner and White counties.
Continuing south, AR-25 bends westward near the community of Enders before rolling into the small town of Guy. Here, the route briefly takes on the role of a main street, intersecting Pinnacle Springs Road, before veering southwest again toward its final destination. Leaving Guy, the highway stretches another four miles through quiet countryside before reaching Greenbrier. 🚙 Drive America’s Highways for approximately 42 miles west along Interstate 40 from Shawnee to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma — transitioning from small-city crossroads into the heart of the state’s largest metro.
This video documents a westbound drive along Interstate 40 from its junction with State Route 3 East in Shawnee to Council Road (Exit 142) on the west side of Oklahoma City. The footage was recorded in 2016, capturing this corridor before the Kickapoo Turnpike existed and before several later infrastructure changes reshaped traffic patterns east of Oklahoma City. As such, the drive offers a useful snapshot of central Oklahoma’s primary east–west artery during a transitional period.
Departing Shawnee, Interstate 40 quickly sheds its small-city surroundings and enters a landscape defined by open land, frontage roads, and widely spaced interchanges. This stretch reflects the practical design priorities of the Interstate era: long sightlines, gentle curvature, and efficient movement across the Southern Plains. Development is present but restrained, reinforcing I-40’s role here as a through-route rather than a destination corridor.
Moving west, the gradual approach toward Oklahoma City becomes evident. Interchanges increase in frequency, frontage roads grow more active, and commercial and industrial development becomes more consistent. In 2016, traffic entering the metro relied almost entirely on surface arterials and I-40 itself for east–west and north–south distribution. The absence of the Kickapoo Turnpike is noticeable in hindsight, as regional traffic had fewer bypass options around the eastern edge of the city.
Closer to Oklahoma City, the highway adopts a more urban character, with warehouses, logistics facilities, and multi-lane interchanges reflecting the metro’s role as a regional transportation hub. The drive concludes near Council Road on the city’s west side, an area that continues to function as a major arterial gateway within the Oklahoma City network.
While understated visually, this segment of Interstate 40 clearly illustrates how Oklahoma’s highway system functioned prior to recent expansions. It serves as a clean, uninterrupted record of a working Interstate corridor just before a major new turnpike altered long-distance and regional traffic flows.

Traveling west from the interchange of Oklahoma Highway 66 and Interstate 44 in southwest Tulsa, this route offers a captivating journey through the rolling terrain and small-town character of northeastern Oklahoma. The video follows OK-66, which closely parallels—and in many places, is—the historic alignment of U.S. Route 66. Leaving Tulsa, the road passes through suburban areas and into the community of Sapulpa, where the pace slows slightly and the scenery begins to reflect the older highway corridors that predate the interstates.
Just west of Sapulpa, the route transitions onto a notable stretch of the original Route 66 alignment. This short deviation captures a glimpse of what early travelers experienced decades ago, with the road narrowing and weaving gently through the countryside. This historic segment continues for several miles before rejoining the more modern alignment near the junction with Oklahoma Highway 33. From there, OK-66 continues its westward path with a mix of rural surroundings and periodic roadside relics—remnants of an era when Route 66 was the nations Main Street.
Approaching Bristow from the north, a short segment of the highway is bypassed due to a brief detour near E-0770 Road. While the detour interrupts the direct route, the video resumes at the intersection with Oklahoma Highway 48, just on the edge of Bristow. From there, the drive continues into the heart of the small town, ending at the intersection of Main Street and 4th Street. Along the way, viewers are treated to both functional highway infrastructure and moments of historical significance that characterize the legacy of Route 66 in Oklahoma.
