I recently had the opportunity to test out granulating watercolor paint and pigment-based (that's right, they won't fade!) watercolor powders from Jackman's Art Materials, and boy, were they fun!
You can find them on Blick for 40% off list! tidd.ly/4fGsRa5
Jackson's art (worldwide) tidd.ly/4euTOvk
Or the Jackman's website: jackmansartmaterials.co.uk/discount/FRUGALCRAFTER10 *You save 10% with my unique link above! (or use the coupon code: FRUGALCRAFTER10 Thanks to Marc Jackman for the 10% discount exclusive to my viewers!)
*I specifically used 14 of the granulating watercolors and 2 watercolor powders
**the palette i put the paint is from alchemistxjourney.com
Pros:
Price: For such a high-quality paint, the price is very reasonable
Granulation (some of the best granulating effects I have seen)
Pigment info provided
No binder separation
Rewets well (often, granulating paints do not rewet from dry well)
Easy to get (this is a UK company, but it is stocked at Blick in the USA and Jacksons Art for Artists in the rest of the world, with competitive pricing)
Made in UK
Cons:
None (this might be the first time a product has not had a single con from me LOL!)
Bottom line: This paint is great! I am excited to try more of their colors of watercolor and pigment powder, and I saw they have started to come out wth gouache as well. I am rooting for this small company, and I recommend you give them a try too!
