Oh Baxter. Oh Bunker. Oh Bean! You are just minutes old and already so lovable and unique! Honeysuckle had a super easy time delivering these three lovely goat kids this morning!
This year’s names are Maine themed! It is our hope that buttering up beautiful Maine will flip the weather trends towards sunny skies this Spring and summer! So far so good!
Baxter is named after Baxter State Park (and also Baxter Brewing in Lewiston!)
Bunker is named for Bunker pond, ledges and neck! (And also Bunker Brewing in Portland)
Bean, the only doelings so far is named for L.L. Bean, Bean island, the tradition of Maine bean Suppahs and the fictional family in Maine author Carolyn Chute’s novel, The Beans of Egypt, Maine! (Plus I call my daughters Lila Bean and Tessie Bean!)
