Plum may win the record for the smallest kid born on our farm and the fastest birth of triplets. This morning she had three doelings in just a couple minutes! The first one, Maddie was 4 lbs 6oz, pretty normal size for a Nigerian Dwarf kid! She has incredible spots! The second and third does came out at the same time!!!! (I’ve seen lots of births, but have never seen that!) That shows you how little Maizy is! She only weighs 1lb 14 oz and squeezed out right next to her sister Molly who is 3lbs 15 oz. So far, despite her being so petite, we are feeling pretty good about Maisy’s chances of doing great! Plum was one of 5 when she was born and also super small and she is now one of the stars of our herd, the first to snuggle up to anyone sitting on a platform in the field! But, she could use all your good wishes as she gets through her first week! If all goes well, these three sisters will be going to a new home together at 8 weeks to a family who loves Plum and her daughter Jane from last year!
