Boruto's official timeline shows us that the upcoming arcs is pretty much what we're getting in the manga. At the beginning, Boruto didn't follow the original release of material because we got one shots, a movie, and the subsequent manga release. It seems like the manga and the anime will converge soon and the next arc we'll be getting is the chunin arc. Boruto's chunin exam is definitely going to be more in depth than the one we saw in the movie or even the manga as this will be the third version of it.
