2 Precision Crew levels.

It's short and has some pretty tight tricks. Coming up with strats to do the tricks more consistently was fun and satisfying, except the one at between the boo and the saw, I couldn't make that more consistent. Would have helped if I knew the hitbox a little better, but I just tried getting lucky. Thankfully no deaths on the last trick, but I did die once to the bottom of the sideways piranha. I didn't see the yoshi at the top of the ending screen when I watched 193's clear video sadly, otherwise I would have taken my time to kill it, but by the time I noticed Yoshi, it was too late.

I guess if I had to pick, I'd say the hardest part was the thwomp trick because it can be awkward, but even then it didn't kill me that much. I think this might even be easier than the first Dangerous castle actually, not sure though, been a while since I played it. But I still managed to die a ton near the end, sometimes because I was dumb, other times because my controller disconnected so Mario would keep running and hit a spike wall, but I guess it's pretty funny thinking back about it.

Difficult precision crew level. Mostly difficult to figure out because you cant practice any of the rooms so I had to figure them out blind. And even though you can see the final room in the thumbnail of the level I didnt think it was possible to get the 50 coin, so I was confused for a while and had to recreate that setup to practice the jump in editor.

It has some tight jumps but the most difficult part of the level was figuring out what to do.

It honestly looked impossible for me just from the thumbnail. I remade it the first jump editor the day it was uploaded but I had no idea what to do, and my laughable lack of knowledge on claws at the time wasnt helping. Then on a random day watching someones stream I expressed my desire of seeing a clear video of this level, so the next day, hatepool, the creator of the level sent it to me. The level looked crazy to me, and he did it with joycons, so I couldnt use my usual excuse of not wanting to play it because I wouldnt be able do it with joycons. I recreated the whole, tried to practice it but I was not consistent at anything so I left it alone for a while, planning to come back to it whenever I had more experience.
3 months later the switch to the https://makerteams.net/ system happened, the option to see what levels I had not cleared let me know I was only missing 2 levels, and this was one of them. Getting to this point was an experience that no one should have to go through, honestly. There are some very fun levels in the team, a lot of which I show in my videos, but theres also a lot of terrible ones. Long car levels, offscreen line up levels and some one jump levels that are so specific people cant even tell what they did differently when they beat them. For some of them I needed to analyze their clear videos frame by frame, to try to come up with strats for them, most of these strats involed a lot of pause buffering, which made them annoying to play, though at that point I can hardly even consider that playing. So even though trump jumps were banned, it didnt mean all the garbage was gone from the team, garbage I never would have played if the ban didnt happen, but if thats the only negative thing I can say about the ban, then its a great thing overall.
Its pretty fitting that my next obstacle after kroolgamers claw level from my previous video, is also a claw level, one that he apparently asked for. Now I felt more prepared, I had the double confirmation about claws being dumb, and over 5 months of experience playing with joycons, so after tons of attempts I finally beat the level. The short endurance section before the pipe is a bit easier than it seems, but entering the pipe was hard because I often got too much momentum or pulled back more than I needed to. I died on the last two claws twice, but thankfully I didnt die on the final jump, which surprised me, considering I failed it so much in editor. Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, there were only 2 levels in the crew I had not cleared, and this was one of them, meaning only one level was left, the one currently considered to be the hardest level in the crew as of the time that Im writing this. This is the story of my journey to complete every precision crew level. To Be Continued...

Had to make one last level before the end of the decade. As the level description says, this started as a pretty easy generic speedrun level, but then I put spikes and the level became the classic Z7 style, where theres no actual theme and I just put random tricks that dont always fit together. At least it reminded of the SMM1 days. The second section was heavily inspired by colo(u)rs Frosty & Forgotten level, which he deleted, unfortunately. The subworld and the sword dash section were inspired by sections in one of my SMM1 levels. The ending is not a real trump jump btw, the gap is pretty big so I didnt die to it in upload attempts.
I beat the original version of this in just minutes so I buffed it a lot, but also made the subworld shorter. One of the major buffs was the bomb timing in the sword dash section, originally youd just start sword dash and hit a p-switch on the ground, but the bomb adds around 4 extra seconds and timing pressure. For some reason controlled jumps and edge jumps are harder while Link in his sword dash state, so that section felt like the hardest part of the level. Just something to point out, but maybe that was just me.

Really hard precision level by Finch, and the sequel to The Ryuval Office, both of them were dedicated to ryukahr because of his DTFP series. I had 3 deaths at the final section (the part with the last 2 blue skulls), but only one death at the final jump. Very proud of how fast I finished this grind.
1Fr4me reached the ending of this level a few times last year, but sadly he quit the game earlier this year, and never came back to beat this. Hes the reason I got into really hard precision and its cool to finally give this level a clear for him, even if it was a whole year later...

This is my third of four Pokémon trainer battle levels I uploaded in SMM1 to celebrate Pokémon Day. If you watched my videos of Blaine Battle and Clair Battle you probably noticed I only gave them 5 Pokémon. This is because I only included 5 Pokémon in Misty Battle, and since theyre also gym leaders, it made sense to give 5 to them too. While Giovanni is also a gym leader, in the games hes generally depicted as much stronger than most other gym leaders, so I decided to give him 6 Pokémon. No Mewtwo though, thankfully, as I already included that one in Red Battle.
The process to select which Pokémon to include in Giovannis team was pretty simple compared to Blaine and Clair. For those two I picked Pokémon from many of their different teams, but for Giovanni I simply took his team from Pokémon Yellow and added Marowak, which he used in another game. At first I added Golem because it was harder, but I hate how I made Golem originally, Marowak is much cooler. My goal with these trainer battle levels isnt to make impossible levels, but more to show off some of my favorite levels from the poké-precision series, them turning out to be really hard is just a bonus.
These are some of the changes I had to make due to the lack of key coins:
In Dugtrio I put a question block containing a p-switch above the U, a bomb inside the G and a blue skull on a track. I also gave the key to the mole in the R, so its a bit harder than in the original version where you could just get the coin without even interacting with the mole.
In Nidoqueen I also put a question block containing a p-switch in the O, then I removed some of the ground below the Q and the U, and also removed the troll block.
In Rhydon I changed one of the spikes in the Y to a question block with a key, and removed the coin above the N because getting it was free anyway, might as well not be there.
In Marowak I removed the ground below the M and below the second A to force you to go through both As, and I put a pow block on the R.
In Persian I removed the coin above the P, just like the last coin in Rhydon, getting it was free. I also removed the coin above the A but gave the koopa a key, so you still have to jump over the A to throw the shell at the weird contraption on the N to kill it. That took a very long time to come up with, but it ensures you cant bring the shell to the final room, so it was necessary.
In Nidoking I removed the ground below the D, the O and the K to force the player to go over them. I added a piranha on top of the O so you have to go inside the O to kill it. I also made the ending less dumb, so even if you stop in the middle of the G you can still make it to the door.
Grinding Giovanni battle was a weird experience, compared to other battle levels. I felt like Id get stuck in the first 2 Pokémon for so long, while in other battle levels I could get to the third or fourth Pokémon relatively consistently. I guess its because Dugtrio and Nidoqueen are so long, for reference, in my clear it takes 69 seconds (nice) to get to Rhydon, and in all the other trainer battles getting to third Pokémon takes less than a minute. So after I cleared this I played my videos of Red, Blue, Green and Giovanni Battle all at the same time, and I was surprised to see that this was the shortest of them. I was only thinking about how long the beginning was and I didnt notice how quick Rhydon, Marowak and Persian go by, but seems like I do those in 67 seconds, which is almost the same time it takes to do Dugtrio and Nidoqueen. So its not that I was dying a lot to them, like I thought, its just that theyre naturally long.
Another silly thing that happened during the grind was when I said the second half was free, but then I ended up having more deaths past the second half than I did in Green Battle. So I was wondering which is harder, Giovanni Battle or Green Battle? I believe Giovanni took longer, but thats probably because I got pretty unlucky with the second half, I even died 3 times getting the last key and another 3 times to the shell jump. Going back and forth between SMM1 and SMM2 destroys my muscle memory with kaizo tricks. Another example of that was the p-switch jump at the end of Nidoqueen, I played the original level like 10 times back in the SMM1 days and I never once failed that p-jump, but when I came back to grind Giovanni Battle it took a long time to get consistent at it, but I was still failing it a lot. SMM2 ruined everything. :p

Not really. For context, Katz and I made a series in Super Mario Maker 1 where we uploaded word precision levels with the names of the first 251 Pokémon and MissingNo. It was easily the most fun I had in SMM1. Shortly after the series ended we even created Alolan forms for the Pokémon that had them. So when Galarian forms were announced we started planning to make levels for them too, and here they are now.

Not too hard if youre careful. Its very similar to the original, but it has no fire bars or burners as Galarian Ponyta is not a fire type.

Much easier than its SMM1 counterpart. It also uses low gravity as I thought it would be a nice way to represent that it gains the fairy type when Galarian Ponyta evolves.

My 15th and final precision crew level. I wanted it to be pretty easy, but that failed. Lowering the timer everytime I died in the last section probably didnt help either, but whatever, not many people will play this anyway, because it has 3 buffer jumps and 2 line ups. No, Im not leaving precision crew, I just wont create new levels for it. Yes, I know the slider music from Mario 64 gets a lot of hate because its so overused.
In case theres people that dont know, Ill explain the title. Joycon Boyz is a meme that spawned from Etikas community. Etika was a great streamer known for his reactions to anything he watched, most notably Nintendo directs, and he was a great person in general. He was also known outside of gaming communities though, sometimes I see One Piece youtubers wearing his merch, which is a nice surprise. Speaking of One Piece, chapter 1000... Aaah! Anyway, unfortunately Etika passed away in June 2019, so I thought about uploading this level in June 2021, but Im not sure if Ill still be posting videos by then.
I usually plan level releases a few months in advance so that the creation process wont be as long as when I sit down in editor with nothing in mind. After I uploaded my birthday level, I decided what my final precision crew levels would be, aside from the poké-precision. One was of course, the Ninja tweet, and my other idea was to make pixel art precision of the Joycon Boyz logo as celebration for having used joycons for a year. I got a new controller about a month ago, but I still wanted to make this. Then I remembered when someone said that they play with a pro controller, except when they clear check levels, where they use joycons to make sure people who dont have any other controllers wont struggle. And I felt inspired to do the same. Its a bit late to start doing that, cause I uploaded all of my 2019 levels with a different controller, but I have gone back to them and cleared them with joycons. As for my 2020 levels, I had no choice, joycons were the only thing I had for most of the year. That means they should be free clears for basically anyone.
Didnt mean to go off on a tangent, so as I was saying earlier, my original plan was to make pixel art precision of the Joycon Boyz logo. Then I realized that would have been just another word precision all over again, just like my 5 most recent levels. And since I knew that this would be my final crew level I wanted it to be something more unique, and I landed on power up precision, its definitely not something I or anyone does too much of. Even with the power ups that were added to the game in april, I never felt inspired to use them.
The SMB2 section is lazy, but whenever I use that power up I cant think of anything, and even this took a long time to come up with somehow, luckily I thought to add a jump to it a few minutes before I cleared the level. The Link section is definitely the hardest part, Im not sure why I made it like this when my plan was to make this an easy level, but at least it looks cool. The boot section was mainly added cause I still feel a little weird about deleting my first level, which was just this but for 35 seconds and upside down. The superball section is where I decided to ruin the level by adding 2 line ups, not many ideas for this power up. And finally the big boy section, this killed me way more than it should have in attempts, the icicles always destroyed me, unless I was practicing in editor. In the original ending the note block wasnt on a track, so the p-switch was bouncing the whole time, meaning you had to awkwardly time destroying the block or get lucky. So the change was more of a cleanse than a nerf.
Looking back at my profile, the last 2 months seem like a repeat of 2019. Poké-Precision in November, and a power up level with practice sections in December. The difficulty happens to be pretty similar too, both levels have a 70s timer and both were uploaded 10 minutes past midnight of their respective day (in my time zone). And none of that was intentional, but Ill pretend that it was, cause why not? Finishing 2020 with 20 levels uploaded was intentional though.
I ran out of space in the description of my previous video so I couldnt mention this, but yes, I got a new capture card, one capable of recording at 60fps. Not every future video will be 60fps though, as I still have some unreleased videos that were recorded before I got my new capture card. My old one lasted me nearly 4 years, so I hope this new one lasts at least that long as well.

A long blue platform precision crew level. It has a pretty simple level design, but it is challenging and fun. The length of the level makes it intimidating to take on, but I watched the creator doing attempts and was able to remake the entire level a few days before it was even uploaded. But then it actually got uploaded right before I started grinding the final precision crew level I had left to beat at the time, so I wasnt able to practice Mr.Clean very much, but I still wanted to clear it that same day. I only really struggled with 2 jumps. The first one is at 0:32, Mario starts offscreen so I basically had to guess how long I had to hold jump every time I made it there. I also died a lot at the low jump sections, but specially the low jump at 0:53, Im not sure why, I usually dont have trouble with those. Luckily the levels easier after that, theres one last hard jump, but I only failed it once and it was my farthest death in the level, shown at the beginning of the video. I figured I was going to die there anyway, and I knew only a few minutes later I was going to beat the level, so I didnt mind.

Streaming simultaneously on Twitch and YouTube. In this stream, well finally reach the goal of 7777 levels in Endless Super Expert. I started this journey in January, but really this run actually started all the way back in July 2019. Back when the game had just come out and i was trying to get all the costumes, I realized how important it would be to reach #1 on any of the leaderboards because one of the costumes was locked behind that, and the endless super expert leaderboard seemed like the least time consuming one to reach. I had 3 super expert runs die pretty quickly, but this is the one that stayed alive. The exact date that it started on was July 6th 2019, and I reached #1 on July 7th 2019, leaving my run at 123 levels, and I swore to never play this mode again.
Thats clearly not the end of the story though, I still continued playing Endless but in Expert difficulty, and reached 77777 levels there on July 7th 2021, which is when I decided to go back to my Super Expert run and reach 777 levels there, reaching that goal on September 24th, 2021 (I wasnt streaming as consistently at the time). After that I began streaming exclusively Super Expert No Skip for about 4 years but after a big (10 month) break from streaming I finally returned and chose to go for 7777 levels in Super Expert, starting on January 22nd, 2026. I believe Ive spent nearly 700 hours playing this run, and today, well finally finish it. Thank you to everyone who decided to stick around and witness this journey.
