A reading of Rhapsody 9 of the Odyssey by faculty and students of Chancellor College, Classics Department, University of Malawi. Participants include Dr. Steve Nyamilandu (lecturer and department head), Dr. Michael Chappell (lecturer), Mr. Chikondi Medson (lecturer), Mr. Patrick Kachimanga (student), Ms. Dorothy Phuka (student), and Mr Jonathan Ngalauka (camera man).
The reading features Greek, English, and Chichewa (a local official language of Malawi). The Chichewa reading is from an adaptation of the Cyclops episode and was written by the late Aemilius Alysious Dziko. It was first published in 1965. The book is still used as part of the Chichewa literature series at the Malawi Junior certificate level.
