LYRICS IN DESCRIPTION
This song tells the story of the outbreak of World War 1. The war was caused by ambitious imperialistic politicians, who were concerned about the spread of Bolshevism. Naive young men on all sides were duped into volunteering for this war, with promises of a short conflict and an easy victory. The outcome was totally different however. There was no great victory . In terms of the common man everybody suffered loss, and Europe was plunged into a dark age that lasted for the most part of 50 Years. My Grand mothers parents were German Franks from the Rheinlands, and so my Grand father probably had to fight against his wifes relatives and there was no natural emnity between them.

And by Christmas at least I`ll be home for the feast with happiness that we can share
Then we`ll all gather round to the beautiful sound of the victory parades in the Square.
