For a long time, Kali believed she hadn’t let OCD truly stop her from living. She still moved to a new country, went to grad school, and pushed herself through major life moments even when her OCD was screaming at her the entire time.

But over time, she realized something more painful: OCD hadn’t stolen the big milestones — it had stolen the smaller moments that make up everyday life. Meals with friends, creative energy, hobbies, relationships, presence, joy. The constant loop of obsessions and compulsions had quietly drained so much of her time and attention that she often felt absent from her own experiences. In this video, Kali reflects on that realization, the grief that comes with it, and how learning she still had a choice in how she responded to OCD became a turning point in getting pieces of her life back.

Kali has managed her OCD with exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, the most effective treatment for OCD. Want to explore your treatment options? Book a free 15-minute call with us at learn.nocd.com/YT
