I can't believe they released a remaster for Oblivion. Finally diving into The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered after holding off just for the stream—and it feels surreal to be back in Cyrodiil. I’ve launched this game a few times to mess with settings, but never got much further than the sewers and the first Oblivion Gate. This time, I’m committing to a full playthrough.
In this stream, we explore Oblivion Remastered gameplay from the very beginning—starting with character creation. I ended up going with an Argonian Mage or Spellsword, though I was tempted to go full stealth Orc just to shake things up. We talk through build ideas, reminisce about the early YouTube era, and troubleshoot a few classic technical hiccups. The Oblivion graphics overhaul looks great, though the muted color palette compared to the original stood out. There’s already a mod to bring back that saturated look, and I may install it later. Along the way, we chat about the state of Bethesda games, the modding community, and how The Elder Scrolls series has changed over the years.
