The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered released on Nintendo Switch 2 today, and this video covers the first 40 minutes, from the opening cutscene through to speaking with Jauffre at Weynon Priory.

Oblivion Remastered is a full graphics overhaul of the 2006 classic, rebuilt with Unreal Engine 5 visuals over the original Gamebryo gameplay, and it includes all of the original downloadable content along with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. It sends you into the sprawling province of Cyrodiil as a prisoner swept up in a plot to save the empire, opening with one of the most iconic introductions in RPG history alongside Emperor Uriel Septim, before setting you loose on the world.
This is a notable release for the Switch 2, as the developers have described it as the first open world Unreal Engine 5 game on the system. On Switch 2 it runs at 1080p 30fps docked and 900p 30fps in handheld, both with DLSS support, and also includes Mouse Mode and motion control support. This opening 40 minutes gives a real look at how the port holds up as you move from the enclosed opening dungeon out into the open world.
