We would like to share our story from the Shark's Cove!
As we mentioned in our video, Shark's Cove was literally 5 minutes walk from our airbnb, so we went there very often!
It was probably our 3rd or 4th visit to Shark's Cove when this incident happened, our first time taking camera gear to film some footage to share with you guys.
The waves looked a bit rough, but we've seen that kind of waves before at the Shark's Cove, and we dove just fine then, so we thought we were safe.
And the moment we went in, I (Chris) got caught in the waves. I was tossed around in between corals and rocks by the wave like a toy!!
So we thought maybe today is NOT the day, and suddenly everything calmed down, and ocean was at peace, so we waited for about 5-10 minutes to see if it changes, and it was still calm, so we figured, why not, let's go!
But once we were in, we realized water was too murky and we couldn't shoot anything underwater and I was just not comfortable being in the water, so after about 15 minutes, we decided to head out.
Aaaaaaaand the waves came back!! and it got Brenda this time. It was so strong! It picked her up and threw her over the rocks and scraped her leg.
Sadly, we do not have any footage from this time, none of us remembered to turn on our GOPRO or INSTA 360 ONE X in the water, we were so focused on trying to survive...
All the diving footage was filmed a week after the incident. Brenda wore a wetsuit to protect her lower body, and we chose a different entry point.
Despite of this horrific incident that we will probably never forget, Shark's Cove is still our favorite snorkel / dive spot in the North Shore, and we will definitely visit again in the future!

오늘은 상어코브에 있었던 일입니다,
상어코브는 저희 노스쇼어 에어비엔비 에서 5분 걸음거리에 있는 하와이의 스노클링 명소중 하나에요.
걸어서 5분거리에 있고, 저희가 워낙 다이빙을 좋아해서 정말 자주 갔었죠, 이 브이로그는 3번 아니면 4번째 방문이었어요, 파도가 전보다 많이 거칠어 보이긴 했지만, 전에도 비슷해보이는 파도와 함께 문제없이 다이빙을 했기에 걱정없이 들어갔지만..
막상 물에 들어가니 거친 파도때문인지 물이 너무 탁해서 동영상을 찍을수가 없었어요, 결국 다시 돌아가기로 결정을 하고 나오는 중 브렌다가 이안류에 걸려버리고, 그뒤에 엄청난 파도에 휩쓸려 버렸어요.
다행이 크게 다치진 않았지만, 다리에 깊은 상처가 생겼습니다.
다른 다이빙 영상들은 그 다음주에 돌아가서 찍은 것들입니다.
브렌다는 웨트수트 하의를 입어서 상처를 보호하고, 이번에는 파도 잠잠한지 한참 확인후에 입수 ㅎㅎ
비록 한번의 잊지못할 무서운 사고가 있었지만, 상어코브는 저희에게는 오아후 노스쇼어 최고의 스노클/다이브 장소이고, 얼마든지 다시 방문하고 싶은 멋진 곳이에요.

After getting married, we realized that owning a big house and working at a big company wasn't our definition of success and it certainly wasn’t making us happy.
