Nursing staff need to be able to develop in careers with fair pay that protects safe patient care.

Nursing staff are the largest workforce in health and care around the world. In the UK our diverse, female-dominated profession delivers the vast majority of care in every setting.

But what makes nursing special is also used to hold pay back. Too many nurses are stuck at the entry-level pay band for years, despite often working at a higher level, with serious consequences for staff morale, patient care and the sustainability of the health service.
