There are two types of AI: general-purpose AI known as “foundation models”, and “specialized models” that are built on top of foundation models and further trained on specific business domains. Traditionally, when a foundation model is updated or replaced, the specialized model developed using it must be rebuilt from scratch.
This video introduces NTT’s portable tuning technology, which separates learning results from the foundation model as a reward model, enabling knowledge transfer across latest foundation models without re-training.
