Two-Day National Seminar on Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873
The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) held a press conference at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, on August 22 to announce a two-day National Seminar on the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1973, to be held on August 28-29 at Town Hall, #Dimapur. The seminar aims to educate the public on the importance of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Nagaland. Professors from Mizoram, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam will speak on BEFR enforcement. The NSF called for centralizing the ILP system under a dedicated implementing authority, citing enforcement challenges from the high volume of entries into Dimapur. It clarified that it has no opposition to genuine Indian citizens visiting Nagaland, provided they abide by the state's laws. 20 seats are reserved for public attendance via formal registration.
