On August 12, 2026, the Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) held a press conference at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, to address three major issues affecting #Dimapur.
On Solid Waste Management, the federation requested the Government to improve resources such as garbage trucks, citing their weak condition.
On electricity, DUCCF called for better service from the Power Department for the welfare of citizens, highlighting damage caused by frequent power fluctuations. DUCCF also addressed the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, pointing out the absence of clear enforcement rules and announcing plans for a general meeting on the Act soon. Following the discussion, DUCCF submitted three recommendations to the Government- installation of Prepaid Smart Meters, infrastructure improvement for electricity, and freedom of choice for domestic consumers regarding the Smart Meter, all of which have been accepted by the Government.
