On a beautiful early spring day, Norfolk Southern train 12Z heads north on the former Delaware & Hudson Railroad through Plains, PA, known as "Hudson" to the D&H. Off to the left is local short line Luzurne-Susquehanna SW7 #50, built in 1950 for the Pennsylvania Railroad. On the point of 12Z is a fresh "AC44C6M", a rebuilt GE Dash 9-44CW with the main conversion being from DC traction to AC traction, which allows for better adhesion.
