When tornadoes struck Mayfield, KY, on December 10, Carolyn Y. got the message: 15 minutes before those twisters would be at her door.

“We could have so easily been the ones who died from this, or from other tornadoes,” says the Benton, KY resident. “And I don’t know why we didn’t.”
