Dedicated to Jazzman1226, part of the reason I found this ship again after so many years! (And a true fangirl and badass vidder after my own heart)
So this paring very nearly didn't happen. And yes, I am very aware that I am late to the party! (But I will go down with this ship) When I was a child there was some trauma that happened alongside the first film and so for many years I've blocked out memory of it...recalling only that Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster made a compelling couple. Now, I'm reading the books and I've got the series ready to watch (Even though I'm doubtful anyone can top the character like Hopkins did.)
I've always adored villains and their journey above heroes...my favourite person once told me that villains are heroes that live to see their lives corrupted and ruined. That villains aren't just born, they are made.
Then there is the argument of psychopathy, sociopathy and all degrees of (in my opinion) misunderstood disorders that are labelled 'psycho' - and that is not me cheering on murderers and rapists, IRL I have no space in my mind palace for those people.
But the origin story of a person who is different has always and will always fascinate me. Those deemed 'normal' by society are often cruel to those deemed 'different' and sometimes that cruelty is just ignorance. They haven't a clue about a disorder so they make light of it. It's very rare that people will go away and research a disorder unless they really REALLY care about someone.
The label can be damning in itself...If you admit you have a disorder then everything you say or do can be argued away as a symptom of that disorder. People can say you're thoughts are wrong, when they are simply 'different'. However there is always a danger in not telling people...what if they simply don't understand where you're coming from and unfairly judge you, without being told you have a specific reason for the way you have been. It's a puzzle...and therein lie excuses and conjecture. I believe the solution is in education, but I think that society does not choose to educate the majority about the minority.
In the real world psychopaths cannot feel empathy or love but this is fictional and I choose to vid characters that speak to me, so here we are.
In this version of events it has been ten years since Buffalo Bill has been caught - by the psychological profile given by Hannibal Lector to Clarice Starling. Free and preying on victims in Florence, Hannibal finds himself yearning for FBI Special Agent Starling and Clarice feels a pull towards the Doctor every day.
In the future I plan to make a lot more with these two, but I wanna use some manips of Jodie Foster that I simply don't have yet with this vid. It's not that Julianne Moore did a bad job of playing her role, it's just that I prefer JF. I hope you enjoy this! Please leave a comment...
